The validation programme for the new engine developed for the Wolf GB08 Mistral has been completed at Varano de’ Melegari. Following its debut in the FIA European Hill Climb Championship, the 1750 Turbo is now available to Wolf Racing Cars customers. The focus now turns to the 2027 season and the challenge for the title in hill climb racing’s top category.
Following its European Championship debut during the 2026 season, development continued both on the test bench and on track, with the aim of defining the engine’s final specification. The Varano session confirmed the results achieved throughout the development programme and completed the validation process: the new 1750 Turbo now officially joins the Wolf range and is available to all customers.
The new engine further expands the configuration options available for the GB08 Mistral, a single-seater designed to deliver maximum performance in both hill climb and circuit racing. The car combines a carbon-fibre monocoque with ground-effect aerodynamics capable of generating more than 1,100 kg of downforce, together with a front splitter and adjustable triple-element rear wing to optimise the aerodynamic balance for the characteristics of different circuits and hill climb courses.
Development of the 1750 Turbo follows the same engineering philosophy as the Mistral itself: making the engine, chassis, aerodynamics, transmission and electronics work together as a single integrated system. This approach is made possible by the expertise developed in-house at Wolf Racing Cars, which produces its own racing engines and has its own range of gearboxes and transmission systems.

With the validation of the new 1750 Turbo, Wolf Racing Cars now enters a new phase of the Mistral programme: no longer focused solely on Category 2 in the European Championship, but ready to compete in the top class across hill climb championships throughout Europe.
