Wolf launches Sopuch in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship

Wolf Racing Cars is pleased to announce the entry of young Czech talent Richard Sopuch into the 2026 Italian Sport Prototypes Championship (CISP), further confirming its commitment to developing the next generation of drivers through the Wolf Academy.

Born in Prague (Czech Republic) on November 14th, 2008, Sopuch is regarded as one of the most promising emerging talents on the international scene. His racing career has been defined by steady progression, built through significant experience in both traditional karting and sim racing—now an integral part of modern driver development.

Richard began his training in rental karting at the age of 8, immediately showing strong discipline and driving sensitivity. At 11, he invested in his first sim racing setup, starting a dual pathway between real and virtual racing that continues to this day, with active participation in online competitions.

Since 2023, he has competed in the Tillotson T4 series across the Czech Republic and Poland. He has also taken part in several endurance events within the Sodi World Series—including the prestigious 24h E.K.T. of Jesolo in 2024—demonstrating consistency, stamina, and strong race management skills.

In 2025, Sopuch attended the F4 Central European Zone Academy at Most, finishing 3rd out of 13 drivers and standing out for his technical ability and work ethic. During the programme, he also tested the Tatuus F4-T421 Formula 4 car. His performance did not go unnoticed, with Academy coaches and mentors praising his ability to absorb and apply feedback, along with his precise and communicative driving style.

Later that year, he made his race debut in the Twingo Cup Central Europe at Most, finishing 11th after an impressive recovery drive from 19th on the grid.

Thanks to his racing license, he has also gained experience with high-performance road cars, driving the family BMW M2 CS during track days at iconic circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps and Most, as well as participating as a co-driver in sessions on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. His long-term goal is clear: to build a career in high-downforce prototype racing, with the ultimate ambition of competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In 2026, Sopuch will compete in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship at the wheel of a Wolf GB08 Raiden, following his selection for the Wolf Academy and his participation in the 2026 Steering Wheel Award, where he finished among the top 10 finalists.

Within the Academy programme, Richard has already impressed with his highly professional approach—focused, detail-oriented, and strongly committed to continuous improvement—qualities that point towards significant development potential.

“Joining the Wolf Academy and competing in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship is an incredible opportunity for me,” said Richard Sopuch. “I’ve been working towards racing high-level cars since I was a kid, and prototypes are my ultimate target. I want to learn as much as possible, improve race by race, and prove my value on track.”

“Richard perfectly represents the type of driver we want to invest in,” commented Giovanni Bellarosa, COO of Wolf Racing Cars. “He is young, determined, and has a great ability to learn. His background, combining karting, real racing and sim racing, reflects the modern motorsport landscape. We are confident that within the Wolf Academy he will be able to fully express his potential and build a strong foundation for his future in prototype racing.”

With Sopuch joining the programme, Wolf Racing Cars continues to strengthen its role not only as a leading manufacturer, but also as a development platform for emerging international motorsport talent.
