More than forty years after its involvement in the Formula 1 World Championship, Wolf Racing Cars returns to building open-wheel single-seaters. The Wolf GB08 Sonik marks the beginning of a new chapter in the Italian manufacturer’s history, bringing all the expertise gained in designing and developing sports prototypes into the world of Formula racing cars.
The performance figures are exceptional: 1,050 hp in its most powerful configuration, a dry weight of just 696 kg and a top speed exceeding 350 km/h. Combined with aerodynamics capable of generating 1,250 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, these figures place the Sonik among the most advanced racing single-seaters, with lap-time performance surpassed only by modern Formula 1 cars.
But it is the aerodynamic development that truly sets the project apart. The GB08 Sonik is the only single-seater outside Formula 1 to feature an aerodynamically faired Halo, developed to optimise airflow and reduce drag. This is complemented by a DRS system, suspension arms featuring advanced aerodynamic profiles, and internal wheel shrouds incorporating integrated brake cooling ducts.
