The multiple-time champion from Como is aiming for an absolute record: to become the first driver to win six titles in the history of the Italian championship.
Davide Uboldi is gearing up for a new season in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship with a clear and ambitious goal: to break every record and establish himself as the most successful driver of all time. "Since this championship began, only two drivers have reached five titles, and I am one of them. Now, I want to be the first to achieve a sixth victory," says the Como-born driver, who will turn 52 on April 5.
To accomplish this feat, Uboldi will take on the season with the well-established partnership of Emotion, Uboldi Corse, and the support of sponsor Pata, driving the Wolf Raiden GB08 powered by Aprilia—the same car with which he dominated in 2024.
A stronger and more determined approach.
After three years of fierce battles in which the title slipped through his fingers until the final race, the reigning champion will approach 2025 with a new mindset: "Winning the title allows me to race with greater peace of mind, without the pressure that weighed on me in recent seasons. This will make me mentally stronger."
Preparation for the new challenge will officially kick off on April 22 with a collective test at Misano Adriatico. "Last year, I adjusted my seat in Pergusa on the eve of the first race, whereas this time, I’m much further ahead in my preparation. In the first three rounds of 2024, I wasn’t at my peak physically or mentally, but then I found the right rhythm and made the difference. Winning a title at fifty, after having done so in my twenties, thirties, and forties, was a great satisfaction."
A battle between generations.
As he returns to the track, Uboldi will face a new group of young talents eager to challenge him. "I don’t see myself as a reference point for them, but as a rival. We all start on equal footing, and they will be hungry for victory. But I’m here to defend my title and aim even higher."
The 2025 season promises to be electrifying, with Uboldi determined to write another chapter in the history of the Italian Sport Prototypse Championship.
