Simone Bianco renews his challenge in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship

The 2025 Italian champion confirms his return to the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship and prepares to defend the crown he claimed last season.

The Italian Sport Prototypes Championship is set to welcome back its reigning champion. Simone Bianco, winner of the 2025 season, has today confirmed his entry for the 2026 championship.

The driver from Monza, born in Monza on July 23, 2007, visited the headquarters of Wolf Racing Cars to officially confirm his intention to return to the track and defend the title he secured last year.

A product of the Wolf Academy program and winner of the 2025 edition of the Steering Wheel Award, Bianco is considered one of the most promising young talents to emerge on the national motorsport scene in recent years. In 2025 he clinched the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship after a season dominated by top-level performances: four pole positions across six events and seven victories in twelve races—figures that highlight his speed, consistency and maturity despite his young age.

“I’m happy to be back on the grid in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship and I’m doing it with the right determination to confirm my title,” said Bianco. “As the regulations no longer allow me to race with Avelon Formula, I’m looking forward to finalizing soon which team I will represent in the 2026 season. I have several offers on the table and I’m evaluating them carefully: I will choose the team that truly shows it believes in me.”

From karting roots to Sport Prototypes
Before stepping up to Sport Prototype machinery, Bianco built his racing path in national karting. In 2024 he competed in the Italian Karting Championship in the KZ2 category, standing out as one of the most competitive young drivers of the season.

During the year he secured a podium finish in Sarno, crossing the line third, and also claimed victory in the special Under-18 standings—results that confirmed his talent and accelerated his move into Sport Prototype competition.

Support from Wolf Racing Cars
Great satisfaction was also expressed by Giovanni Bellarosa, founder and Chief Operating Officer of Wolf Racing Cars, who has overseen the young driver’s development within the Academy project.
“Simone showed important qualities from the very beginning—speed and great maturity despite his young age,” commented Bellarosa. “Winning the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship in 2025, together with such significant numbers in terms of pole positions and race victories, confirmed his talent. We are very pleased that he will return to defend the title: he perfectly represents the spirit of the Wolf Academy and our philosophy of developing young drivers.”

Towards the 2026 season
Defining the team with which Bianco will tackle the 2026 season will be the reigning champion’s next step. He remains one of the most anticipated protagonists of the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship, the series organized by ACI Sport and reserved for Wolf cars.

With the return of the Italian champion to the grid, the 2026 Tricolore promises to be even more competitive and spectacular, ready to deliver another season of top-level racing and high-intensity battles.
