After a brilliant season in the TCR DSG, the young driver from Bergamo is changing categories and joining Emotion Motorsport: "Safety, professionalism, and competitiveness were the key factors in my decision. I want to grow and fight at the top."
In 2025, Luca Verdi will make his debut in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship with the Emotion Motorsport team, led by Lorenzo Capecchi and Marco Cajani. At just 20 years old, Verdi has already made his mark in the TCR DSG, where, behind the wheel of the Audi RS3 LMS for Planet Motorsport, he secured second place in the overall standings, with victories in Pergusa and podium finishes in Imola and Monza.
"I had the opportunity to test the Wolf GB08 Raiden in several sessions, first in Varano and then in Cremona," Verdi explains. "The approach to this car is very different from what I was used to: it has rear-wheel drive and requires a more aggressive and precise driving style. My initial goal is to adapt as quickly as possible and then fight for top positions."
One of the reasons behind Verdi’s decision to take on this new challenge is the competitive and well-regulated nature of the championship: "I was impressed by the great attention to the structural safety of the Wolf GB08 Raiden and the fairness of on-track battles. All cars are technically identical, which makes the competition even more exciting. Moreover, the support from the Bellarosa family is a guarantee for the drivers."
Team principal Lorenzo Capecchi is enthusiastic about Verdi’s arrival: "We are proud to have him with us. He has talent and determination, and I’m sure he will make his mark from the very first race."
The Italian Sport Prototypes Championship will kick off from May 2 to 4 at the Misano circuit, where Verdi will have the opportunity to compete against the best specialists in the category. A challenging test, but also a great chance for growth for a driver determined to leave his mark.
