Veteran Roman driver Manuel Deodati is determined to get back in the game: "At my age, I can still enjoy some success. My goals? I always race to win."
Last year, Deodati took part in the final round of the Italian Sports Prototype Championship at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, making a strong impact in Race 2. With a thrilling comeback and a series of fast laps, he managed to close in on leader Davide Uboldi. However, technical issues forced him to retire just when a decisive battle seemed within reach. Despite the unfortunate outcome, his performance did not go unnoticed.
Now, the 1969-born driver is ready for a full-time return. Deodati, an entrepreneur based on Lake Garda, looks ahead to the Italian championship with confidence. "The Raiden is a really fun car to drive, though I wouldn't mind a bit more horsepower. I don't have many seasons left to race, so I’m embracing this challenge with great enthusiasm." His goal is clear: "Winning. I always race with this mindset, and I want to take home at least a few victories."
Among his rivals, Deodati will once again face an old friend and competitor, Davide Uboldi, while also battling a new generation of young talents—some of whom could be his own children. "It’s an exciting challenge. If my fitness holds up, I’m sure I can achieve some great results."
With over 30 years in motorsport, Deodati has competed in numerous categories, from Formula Monza to GT racing and Prototypes, where he made his debut in 2009.
