Fidel Castillo Ruiz returns to the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship.

The Italian Sport Prototypes Championship once again welcomes an emerging international talent: Fidel Castillo Ruiz will line up from the next round at Misano Adriatico this weekend, continuing his season through to the end of the championship at the wheel of the Wolf GB08 Raiden.

Born on September 19, 2001, in Jaén, Andalusia (Spain), Castillo perfectly embodies the profile of the modern racing driver: young, determined, and technically well-prepared. Alongside his studies in automotive engineering, he is building a racing career already rich in experience and results.

His journey in motorsport began at just 16 years old, with his first testing sessions at Ascari Circuit, before making his racing debut at 18 in the Italian Prototype Championship, where he competed for two seasons with the Wolf GB08 Thunder.
In 2022, he made a significant step up by joining the Italian GT Championship with Lamborghini, driving the Huracán Super Trofeo. Midway through the season, he switched to Ferrari, narrowly missing out on the title at the end of a highly competitive campaign.
In 2023, he further expanded his international experience, combining GT racing with appearances in the European Cup for Cross Country Bajas, showcasing both versatility and the ability to adapt across very different technical environments.

His return to the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship confirms not only the value of the young Spanish driver, but also the growing international reach of the series promoted by Wolf Racing Cars, which continues to establish itself as a benchmark for emerging talents from across Europe.

“I’m very happy to return to the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship,” said Fidel Castillo Ruiz. “It’s a category I know well and consider fundamental for a driver’s development. Racing the new Wolf GB08 Raiden represents a great opportunity for me to show my potential and keep improving race after race. I can’t wait to get on track at Misano and take on this new challenge through to the end of the season.”

Satisfaction was also expressed by Wolf management, with COO Giovanni Bellarosa commenting: “Fidel’s return to the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship is an important sign of the quality of both our series and our cars. We are talking about a young driver who already boasts a high-level international résumé. We are confident he can be a front-runner and further contribute to the growth and visibility of the championship, including in the Spanish market.”
