Among the young drivers selected for the Wolf Academy development program for 2026 is Alex Rad, a Romanian talent born on October 5, 2010 in Zalau, who is ready to begin a new chapter of his motorsport career behind the wheel of the Wolf GB08 Raiden in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship.
Passionate about racing from an early age, Rad has built his racing career through steady progression in karting, standing out both nationally and internationally thanks to strong results and participation in some of the most prestigious championships on the global karting scene.
Among his first major achievements was victory in the 2021 International Karting Masters in the Mini category, an international title that immediately highlighted his talent and on-track speed. In the same year he also secured second place in the Karting Masters Championship, confirming himself as one of the leading contenders at national level as well.
In the following years, Rad continued to compete in some of the most competitive environments in international karting, regularly taking part between 2022 and 2025 in high-level series such as WSK, the FIA Karting Championship, and Champions of the Future. At the same time, he achieved strong results in national competitions, finishing runner-up twice in the National Junior Championship between 2022 and 2025, demonstrating impressive consistency in performance.
The 2025 season marked his first step toward single-seater racing, thanks to test sessions carried out with a Formula 4 car—an experience that represented the beginning of his transition from karting to race cars.
In 2026, Alex Rad officially joins the Wolf Academy, the young driver development program promoted by Wolf Racing Cars, designed to support promising talents as they move toward professional motorsport.
The upcoming season will represent an important opportunity for the young Romanian driver to further develop technically and competitively, contesting the full championship at the wheel of the Wolf GB08 Raiden while working closely with the engineers and technicians of the Italian manufacturer to build experience, speed and on-track maturity.
“Joining the Wolf Racing Academy is a very important step in my career,” commented Alex Rad. “After my years in karting and the first tests in single-seaters, I’m very motivated to start this new chapter with Sport Prototype cars. I know it will be a demanding season, but I’m ready to work hard, learn as much as possible and keep improving as a driver.”
Giovanni Bellarosa, founder and CEO of Wolf Racing Cars, also expressed his satisfaction: “Alex comes from a highly competitive international karting background and has shown strong speed and great determination. At the Wolf Academy we look for young drivers with talent but, above all, with the right mindset to follow a structured development path. We are pleased to welcome him into the program and support him in his first steps in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship.”
Rad’s debut in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship therefore marks the beginning of a new phase in his career, as he aims to continue his development in the world of racing with ambition and strong motivation.
