Andrea Dell’Edera set for 2026 Italian Sport Prototypes Championship

In less than two years, Andrea Dell’Edera has progressed from rental karting to single-seaters and prototype machinery. Now the Italian driver from Arenzano is set to make his debut in the 2026 Italian Sport Prototypes Championship as an official Avelon Formula driver — the on-track reference structure for Wolf Racing Cars — at the wheel of the Wolf GB08 Raiden.

A rapid rise through the ranks
Born in Genoa on August 18, 2009, Dell’Edera has experienced one of the fastest and most significant development curves in recent Italian motorsport.

After debuting in 2023 in Rental Kart and the Briggs Kart Championship — immediately securing wins and podium finishes — he stepped up to competitive karting in 2024, delivering standout results:

3rd place – Rotax Max Challenge National Finals (Franciacorta)

2nd place – Rotax Switzerland Winter Cup

In 2025, he accelerated his trajectory even further. After just one season, he earned his International Racing License, debuted in Formula X Pro, and achieved:

Victory at Vallelunga

Podium finishes at Imola and Misano

2nd overall in class — the youngest driver on the grid — under ACI mentorship

A progression that caught the attention of ACI Sport and Wolf Racing Cars, culminating in his official selection for the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship.

Steering Wheel Award: official selection
In November 2025, Dell’Edera competed in the Steering Wheel Award, immediately standing out among the field.

He finished in the overall Top 3 out of more than 33 drivers from 10 nations, following a selection process based on performance data analysis, technical evaluation, and psycho-physical testing.

His ability to adapt quickly to the Wolf GB08 Raiden, combined with a highly analytical approach in technical debriefs with engineers, proved decisive.

Official Driver and technical development role
In 2026, Dell’Edera will compete as an official Avelon Formula driver in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship, with direct involvement in the car’s technical development — a role that highlights his sensitivity, precision, and quality of feedback.

“The move to prototypes represents an important responsibility for me,” commented Andrea Dell’Edera. “My goal is to improve race by race, working methodically with the team and contributing to the car’s development. Entering the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship with Wolf Racing Cars is a major technical and professional step.”

Testing: consistency and performance
Preparation began with four intensive test days at Binetto, the first official round of the Wolf Academy program. Dell’Edera topped the timesheets, demonstrating consistency over long runs, strong race simulations, and high-level technical communication with engineers.
Testing continued on February 11 and 13 at Varano de’ Melegari, where drivers were split into groups to maximize individual development work on the Wolf GB08 Raiden.
On the dry running day, Dell’Edera set the benchmark lap time in an extremely tight session. Beyond outright pace, the focus centered on balance optimization, tire management, and start procedures.

Giovanni Bellarosa, Founder of Wolf Racing Cars, stated: “Andrea has an exceptional learning curve. In a very short time, he’s gone from rental karting to being competitive in single-seaters and prototypes. We were impressed by his technical approach, the precision of his feedback, and his maturity in managing track work. His role in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship will not be limited to racing — he will also actively contribute to the car’s development.”
