When it comes to extreme challenges, we proudly look back on our adventure at the 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. After securing four overall victories in the legendary American hill climb — including last year’s triumph in the Unlimited class with the Wolf GB08 Aurobay — we returned to Colorado with two cars entrusted to private teams, ready to take on the 20 km and 156 corners leading to the 4,302-meter-high finish line.
The protagonists: David Donner and Dan Novembre
At the wheel of a Wolf GB08 powered by a production-derived Aurobay engine, three-time "King of the Mountain" David Donner showcased his vast experience and complete mastery of the climb, contributing to the development of a future, event-specific evolution set to debut in 2026.
Alongside him, Dan Novembre impressed everyone behind the wheel of the Wolf GB08 CN, setting the fastest time in the upper section of the course — the most demanding in terms of power and altitude management. His performance earned him a spot in the overall Top 5, further proving the strength of the Wolf technical platform under extreme conditions.
A testbed for the Aurobay engine
This edition also marked the conclusion of the development program for the engine built by our technical partner, Aurobay (Horse Powertrain). The project, born from the collaboration between our team and Aurobay engineers, brought a production-based engine into the world of extreme racing — with Pikes Peak as the ultimate test.
The engine’s behavior — reliable, smooth, and consistent even above 4,000 meters — confirmed the robustness of its technical foundation, validating its use in Sprint, Endurance, and track day formats, powering the Wolf GB08 Mistral and Tornado.
Looking ahead: more power, more options
Looking to the future, in 2026 Wolf Racing Cars will offer a racing-specific kit for Pikes Peak, boosting the Aurobay engine’s output to nearly 700 horsepower. This will allow customers and private teams to tackle the iconic hill climb with an optimized and highly competitive package.
That’s not all. Based on the same platform, a 1,750cc version will be developed for European hill climbs, compliant with the new FIA regulations — expanding our offerings for customers focused on the Hill Climb scene.
Special thanks to David Donner, Dan Novembre, the teams involved, and our partner Aurobay for making this edition of Pikes Peak yet another chapter of technical and sporting excellence.
The best is yet to come.
