The Italian Sport Prototype Championship is set to welcome back one of its most seasoned and determined competitors: Omar Magliona. The veteran driver from Sassari, born in 1977, is eager to put a challenging 2024 season behind him and get back in the title hunt with his trademark blend of passion, experience, and hunger for victory. He returns behind the wheel of the Wolf GB08 Raiden, fielded by AC Racing Technology and run by brothers Francesco and Maurizio Abate.
Back with purpose
With nine Italian Hill Climb titles and a career packed with success, Magliona is not the kind of driver to back down when things get tough. And as he explains, 2024 was anything but smooth: "It was a season with more bad days than good, and I often felt like bad luck had me in its sights," the Sardinian driver admits. Despite the setbacks, Magliona still managed to clinch two brilliant victories at Mugello and Vallelunga, underlining both his potential and the competitiveness of the project.
Eyes on a Stronger 2025
"My goal for 2025 is to improve on what we did last year," Magliona continues. "I always keep my feet on the ground, but if the opportunity is there, I want to fight for the championship until the very end. In Monza, during the final race of the year, I was leading before I had to retire. I haven’t been in the car since October, and I can’t wait for the green light to go on. Then, as always, the stopwatch will do the talking."
Faith in the Championship and Team
Magliona has renewed his commitment to the Italian Sport Prototype Championship and to the Bellarosa family, long-time driving forces behind the series and the Wolf Racing Cars brand: "I strongly believe in what they’re building. I expect a balanced, hard-fought season. I just hope certain unsportsmanlike behaviors I experienced in 2024 don’t happen again."
