Michele Locatelli: “Starting my second season in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship is a great opportunity for me. 2025 was an incredible year, crowned by the Master title and the Guglielmo Belotti Trophy, which I consider one of the most important recognitions of my career. It’s an award that goes beyond results and reflects the way I approach this sport. Receiving it at Misano, at the end of the season, was truly special. For 2026, I want to keep improving, keep pushing myself, and give my maximum in every race together with the Bad Wolves team.”

Giovanni Bellarosa, COO of Wolf Racing Cars: “Michele perfectly represents the values of Wolf Racing Cars and the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship. Steering Wheel Award and entry into the Wolf Academy
Participation in the Steering Wheel Award marked another key step forward. Iwo impressed the technical panel with his natural speed, refined grip management and strong composure in comparative sessions—qualities that earned him selection and a place within the Wolf Academy.

CISP Debut: a strategic step forward
The 2026 season will mark Beszterda’s structured transition to prototype racing with his debut in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship—an important strategic milestone in his international development pathway.

“The Italian Sport Prototypes Championship represents a very important step for me. After karting and my first single-seater experiences, I want to keep progressing in such a technical and competitive environment. I’m ready to take on this new challenge with maximum focus,” commented Iwo Beszterda.

On-Track preparation: Binetto and Varano
Following initial classroom activities at the Wolf Racing Cars headquarters, Iwo began his on-track preparation with test sessions at Binetto as part of the Academy programme.

The work then continued at the Riccardo Paletti circuit in Varano de’ Melegari, where drivers were split into two groups to maximise individual development time aboard the Wolf GB08 Raiden ahead of the 2026 CISP campaign.

In wet conditions, Beszterda set the benchmark lap time of the day, standing out for his grip management, braking sensitivity and ability to interpret the evolving track surface as it dried—an especially valuable proving ground that underlined his technical maturity.

Beyond outright pace, the focus was on long-run simulations, start procedures, tyre management and technical debriefing with engineers—fundamental elements in the build-up to his season debut.

Giovanni Bellarosa, Founder of Wolf Racing Cars, stated: “Iwo is a driver with a very solid international background. At Varano he demonstrated great sensitivity in difficult conditions—an essential quality in prototype racing. His path towards the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship is built on very strong technical foundations.”

Varano test: Wolf’s young guns ready for 2026

The Wolf Academy’s development program continues full throttle. After the inaugural tests at Binetto, Wolf Racing Cars’ young talents returned to the track on Wednesday, February 11, and Friday, February 13 at Varano de’ Melegari, tackling two intense days on the technical Emilia-Romagna circuit dedicated to Riccardo Paletti.

The program split the drivers into two groups: four on track Wednesday, three on Friday, maximizing individual seat time and allowing each driver to focus on specific aspects of driving and setup of the Wolf GB08 Raiden in preparation for the 2026 Italian Sport Prototypes Championship.

Wednesday’s session took place under wet conditions, a particularly formative challenge for the young drivers. On the damp track, Polish driver Iwo Beszterda set the fastest lap ahead of Czech driver Richard Sopuch. Beyond raw lap times, both focused on mastering grip management, braking sensitivity, and reading the track as it evolved and dried.

Friday brought completely different conditions: dry asphalt and more favorable temperatures allowed the team to concentrate on optimizing car balance and chasing outright performance. Andrea Dell’Edera was the quickest, edging out Filippo Pola after a tightly contested session.

Beyond the lap times, the technical staff maintained the structured program: long-run simulations, start procedure drills, tire management, and refining the driver-engineer communication loop. A well-planned approach that reinforces Wolf Racing Cars’ commitment to developing drivers both technically and mentally.

“I’m really happy with the work we did in the wet,” commented Iwo Beszterda. “It wasn’t an easy condition, but that’s exactly why it was so important to understand the car better and improve my feel. With the team, we’re building something solid ahead of the championship.”

Andrea Dell’Edera added: “Friday was a big step forward in the dry. Lap times are just a consequence—what matters is the feeling, which grows lap after lap. The Academy is putting us in the best possible position for the first race.”

Summing up, Giovanni Bellarosa said: “These tests confirm the value of the Wolf Academy project. Seeing the drivers work professionally, adapt to different conditions, and grow quickly is the most important takeaway. Our goal is not just to train fast drivers, but to build complete professionals. We’re on the right track.”
